As part of the intensified efforts to combat insecurity, kidnapping, and other criminal activities, the Oyo State Government has imposed a temporary curfew on 10 local government areas located around the Old Oyo National Park.

According to a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, the curfew will run from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. daily, commencing on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. The restriction will initially remain in effect for 48 hours while security agencies intensify operations in the affected areas.

The local governments affected by the directive are Oriire, Orelope, Irepo, Saki West, Saki East, Atisbo, Itesiwaju, Iseyin, Olorunsogo, and Atiba. The government explained that the measure is aimed at strengthening ongoing security efforts to flush out criminal elements operating within communities surrounding the Old Oyo National Park.

Prince Oyelade appealed to residents of the affected areas to cooperate fully with security agencies and comply with the curfew order, assuring them that the government remains committed to safeguarding lives and property while restoring lasting peace across the region.
