His Royal Majesty, Oba(Diamond)Saliu Oyemonla Tella Azeez, Agunloye IV, the Sabiganna of Iganna Kingdom, has been appointed the Pioneer Royal Patron of the Federal University of Agriculture and Technology,Okeho(FUNATO).
The appointment was announced during a courtesy visit by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor BABAYEMI Olaniyi Jacob, to His Royal Majesty at the Sabiganna Palace today. The visit provided an opportunity for the Vice-Chancellor and the paramount ruler to engage in meaningful discussions on the development, growth and progress of the emerging varsity.



According to the Vice-Chancellor, the conferment of the distinguishe honour on the Sabiganna is in recognition of His Royal Majesty’s immense support, patriotic commitment and exemplary leadership, particularly his contributions to the advancement of education,rural development and the socio-economic growth of the Oke-Ogun region.
Professor Babayemi further acknowledged the traditional ruler’s continued support for initiatives that promote the development of the University and strengthen its relationship with the host community and other stakeholders across Oke-Ogun.



The appointment of His Royal Majesty as the Pioneer Royal Patron is expected to further strengthen the long standing partnership between Iganna and Okeho, while providing an avenue for greater collaboration towards the realisation of the University’s vision and its contribution to the educational and developmental transformation of Oke-Ogun and beyond.
The University expressed its appreciation to His Royal Majesty for his steadfast support and leadership, describing the appointment as a fitting recognition of his commitment to the advancement of higher education and community development.
