The Oyo State Forum of Chief of Staff, through its Public Relations Officer, Hon. Aderinwale Abideen Adeyemi, has strongly cautioned against any attempt to drag the revered traditional institution into partisan politics, urging the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, to maintain neutrality in the interest of peace and unity across the state.

In a statement issued on behalf of the Forum, Hon. Adeyemi emphasized that the traditional stool of the Olubadan remains a symbol of cultural pride, moral authority, and unity for all sons and daughters of Oyo State, irrespective of political affiliations. He stressed that any perception of political bias could erode the dignity and long-standing respect accorded to the institution, which has historically served as a stabilizing force in the state.

The Forum expressed deep concern over insinuations of an impeachment agenda targeting Governor Seyi Makinde, describing such a move as unnecessary, divisive, and inconsistent with democratic values. According to the statement, resorting to impeachment under the current circumstances would not only be “unkingly” but also capable of disrupting the relative peace and progress the state has continued to enjoy.

Reaffirming their unwavering loyalty and support for Governor Makinde’s administration, the Forum called on all stakeholders, political actors and traditional leaders alike, to place the collective interest of Oyo State above personal ambitions. They urged continued dialogue, mutual respect, and responsible leadership, noting that safeguarding the peace and stability of the state must remain a shared priority for all.
