Ahead of the highly anticipated Ibadan 2026 Unity Mega Rally and strategic alliance between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), the lawmaker representing Akinyele Constituency 1 at the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Abiola Olalekan Monsur, has intensified grassroots mobilization efforts across communities within Akinyele Constituency 1 and Akinyele Local Government as a whole. The political movement, which has continued to generate widespread reactions, is expected to reshape political alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The rally, scheduled to take place tomorrow, Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the historic Mapo Hall, Ibadan, is projected to attract a massive crowd of party loyalists, political stakeholders, youth groups, market leaders, artisans and residents from different parts of Oyo State. Political observers have described the forthcoming gathering as one of the largest political convergence events expected in the state this year.

The Oyo Lawmaker further revealed that publicity for the mega rally has dominated radio and television stations within Ibadan and neighboring communities, while branded materials, banners and campaign messages have also been strategically positioned across major roads and public spaces. Market outreach programmes and community visitation exercises have equally been intensified as part of efforts aimed at galvanizing support for the political alliance and strengthening grassroots participation.

Hon. Abiola Olalekan Monsur maintained that adequate transportation arrangements have also been put in place to ease movement of supporters and party faithfuls to the venue, adding that the unity rally would serve as a major platform for political stakeholders committed to sustainable development, inclusive governance and stronger collaboration ahead of the next general election. He expressed confidence that the event would further reinforce the growing political strength and unity of progressive forces across Oyo State.
