It was a gathering of purpose, unity, and hope as the Kingsway Progressive Movement and the Yankee Joint Forum officially held their inaugural meeting at the party house in Funduk, Akinyele Local Government.

The historic gathering brought together a diverse crowd of men, women, and youths from across all wards of the local government, all united by a shared vision for a greater Akinyele, Oyo State, and Nigeria at large.

The joint forum, now rebirthed as the Bimbo Adekanmbi Progressive Movement, was birthed to promote inclusivity, unity, and grassroots mobilization within the APM family. Its mission is clear: to ensure that every member, regardless of position or background, has a voice and a stake in the progress of the party and governance across the country. It is a movement for total contribution of all, and not a faction.

In his opening address, the Ward 5 Youths Leader, Hon. Sarafadeen Oladeji Oye, charged members to remain united and focused. He emphasized the need for recognition of loyal members who have worked tirelessly for the party, urging that their efforts should not be overlooked. He also preached support for all APM candidates and called for carefulness during campaigns, reminding everyone that the goal is to win hearts, not to fight.

The Deputy Coordinator of the movement, Com. Olaiya Dayo, assured members that equality will be the foundation of the movement. He stated clearly that there will be no discrimination, and that every member’s contribution will be recognized and rewarded.

The meeting was also graced by Hon. Adenowo Oluwaseun (Yankee), who delivered a powerful message of inclusivity and loyalty. He assured all youths that they will never be left out, and that everyone will be well represented across board in government. He called for love and understanding among all members, stressing that women, men, youths, the aged, and the young will all be carried along.

Hon. Yankee pledged the loyalty of himself, Kingsway, and other mobilizers to ensuring that Akinyele Local Government gets to the top and benefits fully from politics. He called on everyone to shelve their grievances and work together for the success of all APM candidates.

In his closing remarks, Dr. Amuda Afeez (Kingsway) thanked everyone for their presence and commitment. He called for total support for all APM candidates and pledged his unwavering dedication to the party. He vowed not to relent in his efforts to make Akinyele Local Government the envy of all in Oyo State.

Kingsway challenged the youths, women, and everyone present to be good ambassadors of the APM wherever they find themselves. He also praised Governor Seyi Makinde, Bimbo Adekanmbi, Hon. Wole Akinleye, and other candidates and office holders who have never relented in making children of nobody become somebody without knowing anybody.

The inaugural meeting ended with a collective resolve to work tirelessly for the success of the APM in the forthcoming elections. Members left with renewed energy, a stronger sense of unity, and a shared commitment to the progress of Akinyele Local Government.
