The Oyo Central Senatorial Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Olanrewaju Temitayo Oloja, has expressed deep shock and sadness over the demise of the Ogo Oluwa Local Government APC Youth Leader, Hon. Yahya Ahmed Babatunde, describing his death as a painful and heartbreaking loss to the party, the youth constituency and the entire political family.

Hon. Oloja recalled that their relationship blossomed during the Renewed Hope Youth Concert in Abuja, where they shared memorable moments and built a bond rooted in mutual respect, loyalty and commitment to progressive politics.

Speaking emotionally on the late youth leader’s contributions to the party, Hon. Oloja noted that he served as the Electoral Officer during the election that produced Yahya Ahmed Babatunde as Ogo Oluwa APC Youth Leader. He further revealed that he also served as an Electoral Officer during the APC primary election where the late politician emerged as the Ogo Oluwa Local Government Chairmanship Candidate, adding that he was greatly impressed by the overwhelming support, influence and acceptance Yahya Ahmed Babatunde enjoyed among party members and youths within the local government.

He further revealed that respected party stakeholders, including Aremu John Oyetunji and Akin Akinwale, had strongly advised him after his emergence as Senatorial Youth Leader to always seek the counsel, support and guidance of Yahya Ahmed Babatunde and other experienced youth leaders because of their political maturity and stabilizing roles within the party structure.

Hon. Oloja described the late Yahya Ahmed Babatunde as a generous, honest and dependable politician whose wisdom, humor and sincere opinions would be greatly missed by everyone who encountered him. He lamented that he showed no visible sign of illness the last time they met physically during a recent party program, making the news of his demise even more shocking and difficult to comprehend.

While praying for the peaceful repose of his soul, Hon. Oloja urged party faithfuls and youths across Ogo Oluwa Local Government to uphold the late leader’s legacy of humility, loyalty, unity and unwavering dedication to the growth of the APC.

“Rest on, my brother. Your memories, sacrifices and impact within our political family will never be forgotten,” he concluded.
